Welcome to Frideger.com
My name is John Edward Reinhart, Jr. and I am the son of Eunice "Frideger" Reinhart. My mother was John Ulrich Frideger's grand daughter. I am building this website in the hope that it will be of interest to family members. As well as for anyone that is searching for a glimpse of early Americana.

For reference I have hand written and typed copies of genealogy from several family sources. Schearer genealogy that was compiled in 1969 and 1970 by Minnie Rolley at age 84. Frideger genealogy that was probably compiled by my Aunt Agnes "Frideger" Pester? Plus my mother compiled much of the Michael Reinhart family genealogy which has been posted on the internet.

The above picture is of Fred Frideger and myself while on vacation in Florida. It was taken by my mother on February 13, 1955. Fred Frideger died 4 months later as the result of a freak accident.

The above picture is of John and Agnes "Shaffer" Frideger and their daughters Esther, Eunice and Agnes. The picture was taken on June 26, 1939. John Frideger died December 2, 1950 shortly after my birth. I remember my mother telling me. That my Grand Father Frideger had only seen me once before his death.

Items in my possession that belonged to my Grand Father include Frideger calling cards, 1800's cabinet cards and personal letters. Some of which I plan to share on this website. Sadly the cabinet card images are not identified. Though hopefully over time some of these images can be identified by other family members?

I also have an early Frideger bible from what I believe was the home of John Ulrich Frideger? I was quite young when Fred Frideger, John Ulrich Frideger's last remaining child died in 1955. However I remember the estate being divided among family members. My parents also received a large walnut wardrobe which sadly was lost due to a fire on our farm. My mother Eunice "Frideger" Reinhart took a few pictures the day the Frideger estate was divided. Hopefully I can locate them if they still exist?
